Meadow Conservation Network
The Meadow Conservation Network group was formed to explore opportunities to learn and leverage resources for conservation of grassland, oak savannah, meadow & prairie ecosystems. Specifically, this group will be working in the southwest Oregon and northern California geographic area.
History & Timeline
In winter 2024, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy and The Understory Initiative began discussing the need for a network for individuals working in meadow and grassland conservation across organizations and government entities.
In spring 2024, the group held its first tour of the ODOT Vernal Pool Mitigation Bank near Medford, Oregon. A Needs Assessment Survey was sent to Network members to better understand potential functions and outcomes of the group.
