Program Overview:
The Understory Initiative provides site visits and technical assistance to landowners interested in restoring or creating pollinating insect habitat on their land.
Through this program, The Understory Initiative collaborates with private landowners to create or enhance pollinator habitat on their land, create additional native seed production sites, and help landowners prepare or amend restoration plans to incorporate native seeding on their property.
Through our partnership with the Partners for Fish & Wildlife and the Southwest Oregon Pollinator Collaborative, we aim to increase seed supply and technical assistance for landowners while bridging funding gaps.
If you are a landowner in Jackson, Josephine, Curry, Coos or Douglas Counties (Oregon), with woodlands and/or agricultural lands, and are interested in working with us to increase pollinator habitat on your land, please fill out this survey so we can learn about your pollinator related goals for your property, set up a site visit, etc. We are particularly interested in connecting with landowners in Curry, Coos, or Douglas counties to collaborate on native seed increase production!
